These shoes are incredibly comfortable. They are cozy, provide great support and I could wear them all day from the moment I took them out of the box. I marked them as 4 stars on the style only because they're a little clunky - I've still gotten a lot of compliments on them and really like them (and wear them all the time), but they're close to the line between cute clunky and too clunky. I think they're cute, but I don't think I'll ever wear them to a bar or like, a business casual event. I wear them with skinny jeans or a dress and black tights.

I had so many compliments on these the first time I wore them! They are easy to slip on and off (maybe a little TOO loose if anything but now I can wear them with warm socks for winter) and fairly comfy. I love that they are free of animal products too.

I fell in love with these little silver nuggets as soon as I took them out of the box! They're kind of an "antiqued" silver, not too shiny, they add just the right amount of spark to an otherwise boring ensemble. I have flat, wide feet, and they're comfortable, roomy enough to wear with regular sock. Perfect little boot for this winter!

I've worn this shoe so many times since it arrived: with jeans, tights, whatever. It's very neutral but cool. I like that it's not actually leather -- will probably be my wet weather boot (although it isn't made for heavy rain and puddles). I got an 8.5 which turned out to be roomy enough for my orthotics. These shoes are extremely flat so you'll probably want to add an insole. I'm getting another pair in silver.

These boots are cute,they just have no support of any kind whatsoever.They're fantastic if you're not on your feet ALL day,I was a teensy bit disappointed by the price vs quality,but really these are cute and not too high chelsea boots. I actually like the matte black material,but I can see how some people wouldn't like the fact that they don't resemble leather or suede.I have a large bunion on my right foot and the toe box is large enough to accommodate it, but not so large that it makes my feet look too big(I'm a 9 1/2).

I've never ordered 'Dirty Laundry' brand shoes before; I am not impressed. I paid the sale price, which was at least 50% higher than the quality of the shoes. I can't imagine paying full price for these shoes. They were very unattractive, and looked 'cheap', like something at KMart or Payless Shoes; not Zappos! I am not a high-end hoity-toity shopper either, but I do like to feel that my shoes were a value; cheap as they were, they are no value and thus returned.

Huge! I wear a size 7, sometimes I get a 7 Wide if the shoe looks like a narrow toe box, but these were huge! I even had thick socks on when I tried them on and my feet literally swam in these boots. Highly unusual and I was very disappointed since the shape of the boot and the heel height would have been perfect for me. Sent them back, did not reorder a smaller size thinking that they may be too short. Sad face.

This is the second pair of Mephistos I have owned. These felt great right out of the box. My office is on the second floor of our building and the first day I wore them they broke in quickly and stayed comfortable all day long. I ordered a half size smaller than normal due to the suggestions of other reviews and it worked out perfectly. Great shoe, light weight and easy break-in. If you are on your feet all day these are definitely worth the investment.

Mephistos Have Changed My Life! I am a full-time waiter - and I used to go home and cry my feet hurt so much. My employer, my GM, and 2 of my co-workers told me to stop being a cheap-skate, open my wallet and invest in a pair of Mephistos. So I did. Best $ I have ever spent and I will wear them for the rest of my life. They took about 1 week to break in and they are the most comfortable and supportive shoes I have ever worn. This shoe is slightly larger than marked. I "normally" wear a 9.5 - but I have wide feet (EE) - so I went with the 9.5 and they fit perfectly. If you have D width feet - they might be too big.

Nervous man now a convert - I fell in love with these shoes at a store...$470 after taxes, OUCH. Decided to look online and found them here for $80 off, SCORE. Worried about buying shoes on line, Zappos pays for free return shipping and has a 365day return policy, SCORE. Decided to buy them but was bummed that I wouldn’t get them until next week. Turned on the computer the next morning with a lovely note from Zappos and a Fed Ex tracking number telling me I would get the shoes that day...15 HOURS after I ordered them...TRIPLE SCORE. SOLD for LIFE...thanks Zappos. Personal note, if you are buying this particular brand, the other reviews are correct that you need to drop a half size than you are use to. 8.5 fits perfect though I wear a 9 in everything else.

Gaetan Review - A very nice shoe. I have had many Mephisto shoes this is the first that really wears well with a suit. It is a little narrower than others including the Marlon. Order a half size smaller than other brands. If you need a comfortable shoe that you will wear with a suit- this is for you.

Mephisto Gaetan - Great overall shoe, superb comfort and a slightly fashionable look but not over the top. After 3 wearings, they fit like very soft gloves.

Great shoe- This shoe was a bit of a surprise to me. I have always found Mephisto to be a bit behind the curve on fashion, but this shoe changes that. I was a little surprised at how light the shoe was. Not sure how it will hold up in the long run, but thanks to Mephisto's resolving program, I'm not worried. Bottom line, it's the perfect shoe for any occasion, comfortable, good looking, a great fit and excellent quality.

I Like the Abel Model Better - I own seven pair of Mephistos and was disappointed with the Gaetan. I like the Mephisto Abel model much better. The Gaetan is not as comfortable.
