I bought the size 8 and they fit perfectly. I usually go for an 8½ in
boots; but since Docs do not come in halves, I bought the 8. Style wise, you cannot go wrong with Docs. I like to wear mine with my skinny
jeans tucked inside. I cannot wait for fall so that I can wear them more often!

I need to return this boot for the one which is not as high. I found that this boot was too stiff and a little too big to be comfortable.

These
boots are exactly what I was looking for. I tried a ton of different stores, but all their
boots were either too high or too low. Zappos had a giant selection of this product and these were perfect. They are the right fit, style, and overall I really love my new
boots. Not to mention the shipping was free and they were delivered extremely fast.

So, I love
Doc Martens. I think they're a gift from the gods and will always be in style. I got the 1490s in smooth black, and I really wish I had gotten the black illusion; only because the smooth black was extremely stiff and uncomfortable. One of my girlfriends got the knee high Docs in black illusion and she said they felt like heaven and didn't even have to wear them in. My
boots, however, I had to take to a cobbler and have them stretched and worn in for me. They still hurt my feet a little, but it's not like I didn't expect that. I know it'll take a while for me to truly wear them in. Needless to say, though, I will continue buying Docs and wear them like it's '95. Holla!

I haven't had a pair or Doc's for years & am glad I decided to get another pair. I originally ordered the mens/ womens black docs but after trying them on they were way too wide. Then I noticed that there was a Womens black boot so I exchanged them for the womens. The womens feel pretty narrow & I don't have wide feet but not so narrow I would be unhappy with them. What can I say but Docs are a tried & true classic.

I feel like I'm in the minority in that I didn't really have any problems breaking these
boots in at all! They were comfortable from the start and I LOVE how they look!

I haven't worn doc for about 13 years so I was a little wary when I read the reviews about comfort--I vaguely remember there being a long break in period with my old docs. The docs are great. No discomfort. They run a little big so I notice when I wore them all day one foot was slipping so my heel did rub--if I laced them tighter I don't think I would have a problem. I wear a size 10.5-11 in women's so I just have odd size feet that are difficult to fit. These docs felt wide enough, no cramping, and very comfy on the foot bed. Great shoes.

They are a classic. I have had several pairs of Dr. Martens
boots. WARNING! They are very painful on the heel to break in. Once broken in they are very comfortable and can walk forever in them.

Disappointed. Made in Thailand and it shows. Leather (and I am skeptical that is the material) is cheap, thin and feels like plastic. Unfortunately when Dr. Marten went overseas the quality went with it. Price is too expensive for a sub-par product.
