I saw these boots
and had to get them.
I wear a true 8 1/2, and had no guidance when I initially looked at them. I had gotten the brown suede in a 9, and my feet were swimming in them. I added some heavy socks
, but they were still just too big. While I was a little apprehensive about going a size down, I tried the size 8. It fit snuggly and would have been perfect without socks
. The problem was that, unlike other Uggs
, these only have sheepskin lining on the ankle, heel and under the ball of the foot. The remainder of my foot was exposed to the leather.
My feet got cold wearing them without socks
. I tried a thin wool sock and my foot was a little cramped, and still cold. I couldn't put on a thicker sock because the boots
were just too tight and hurt my toes. After wrestling with various socks
and alternatives, I had to finally tell myself that these weren't going to work for me.
I couldn't walk around in the winter with cold feet (yet warm ankles), and couldn't subject my toes to the cramping.
They are really great looking with the collar up or down, and are comfortable to walk in. The heel is the perfect height, though I wouldn't walk in the snow or ice with them.
They are great for dry winter days.
