Gorgeous boots! Super soft leather and well made. I love them and wish I could keep them. Sadly, they didn't fit my 17.5" calves and will be going back to Zappos. They were way too tight on my calves. So tight I couldn't even get them over my calves. I measured the boot shaft with my tailors tape to see why that was so. They measured 15.5" for a size 8.5 boot...not the 17 inches that is listed in the product description. I gave this boot overall 5 stars regardless of the fit.

These boots are beautiful. Frye quality. I have very large calves, slightly over 17 inches. I usually wear a 9B to 9.5B in boots. I know Frye runs small for me so I bought a size 11. The shaft fit over my calves. A snug fit but not uncomfortable. I'm keeping these boots. I will not be able to wear them with skinny jeans but I don't care. I am able to wear them with tights and skirts. These boots are pricey but I can tell I will be wearing them for several seasons.

I ordered these boots based on the description saying the size 9 had a 17" circumference. I am a size 8 and took a shot in the dark that they would fit my 16" calves. The size 8s are right at the 16" circumference. They are snug around my calves. I am hoping with time and a trip to the shoe repair that the shaft will stretch and be easier to put the boots on. Right not it is quite a comedic struggle to get them on. I need my hubby to help pull them off at the end of the day. Not that my feet hurt or anything. Purely, the shaft of the boot is tight around my legs. It would definitely be easier if these boots had a zipper or some elastic to give the shaft some stretch. Otherwise, the boots fit me well. They are a little loose around my foot (medium width) and it would not be a problem if I could wear thicker socks with these boots. I have to wear thin trouser socks to help my feet and calves slide through the shaft and get the boots on. Nonetheless, I like these boots and will make it work. I have been on the hunt for knee high boots for years and I am not letting these go without a fight.

These boots are beautiful, but the circumference is huge. I have skinny calves, so my legs were swimming in them. Frye, please make these boots with narrower shafts, because they are exactly what I want otherwise!
