Very disappointed. The handle when extended has a lot of play which gives it a really sloppy feel when in use.
In the middle of a long, multi city trip, my first rollaboard died. I needed a good replacement, so I decided to go for the Tumi
, which I could get from Zappo's Asap. So, it arrives and the next day, I pack up my stuff and head to the airport for my next stop. As soon as I start using this, I don't like it. So much for my perception of Tumi
This is a good looking bag, and I like the layout. But it has another serious flaw. As Exploring the features, I found the strap to attach an additional backpack or briefcase, while you are rolling along. The placement is on the top of one one of the outside compartment flaps. This strap is poorly engineered, in fact it puts the stress right on the zipper. It is obvious that this strap setup will fail quickly under ordinary use and require repair. Fortunately, I have an extra strap of this type and I have hooked it to the large luggage
handle at the top.
Another point to note, this is a lower price Tumi
line of product sold through larger channels of distribution, Zappo's and Macy's are two. So, while this doesn't carry the premium price tag of most Tumi
products, at $325, it is at the high end in comparison to the competition.
I think you can find a similar product with better quality and design from another manufacturer at a lower price.
