I loved the look of this shoe and the arch support was ortha-excellent but they were heavy and clunky to wear and the stiffness of the leather at the area where the foot bends as one walks was uncomfortable as it dug into my foot; was hoping for the same comfort as the Melissa / the other Dr. Weil model I tried was also unacceptable because of heaviness and lack of flex.

Runs quite small - a full size small. I'm a true size 5, but ordered a 5 1/2 because size 5 was out of stock. But the 5 1/2s are very snug - my toes hit right up against the front of the boot, with no wiggle room. I'm going to try them in a 6, because otherwise I like the boot - the leather is soft, the footbed is springy and padded, and the brown color is deep and rich. The shape of the toebox could be improved, though - it's just sort of rounded off and detracts from the stylishness of the boot. I also ordered the Lassen Amelia in a size 5 and they fit perfectly. Also, the description of both boots say the shaft height is 8 in, but the Amelia is noticeably higher than the Kansas. So I took it upon myself to measure the shafts of both boots according to Zappos' definition (Shaft - The height of the shaft measured from the middle of the arch up the outsole of the boot to the top of the boot shaft in inches). The Lassen Kansas has a shaft of 7 inches (not 8).

These are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever owned! I did get a wide width because it said medium was a "B" and I normally wear a "C". Truthfully, the medium width would have probably worked out just fine, but I decided to keep them and wear thicker socks. The leather is very soft, but durable--I have already put them to the test with a whole day of walking and shopping in the rain. Buckles are high quality. Inside is padded and very supportive. Love these boots--am a Lassen fan for life now!

I absolutely love these boots! I have skinny feet and these are a little snug, so I just wore tights with them and they are perfect! They are very comfortable and I get a lot of compliments! I love comfortable, but stylish and not old looking shoes!

I love these boots! The last thing I needed was another pair of mid-calf, brown boots, but I fell in love with the look of them ordered anyway. They have quickly become my very favorite. I love the fact taht they have a wide option. I have fairly thick calfs and they fit fine, but they are a little too tight to tuck jeans into. The leather is a very soft and the sole flexible, so they have a nice, comfortable shoe-like feel. I love them.

Love! I love these boots. They're just as cute in person as online, and they're amazingly comfy. They fit true to size.
