The
New Balance brand was recommended to me by a podiatrist for my son's wide feet. The normal/medium width was plenty wide for him. Felt true to size in length as well.

I was shopping for shoes for my mother-in-law. She is 4 ft 8 inches and wears size 3 wide. My sister-in-law did her best to find her mother shoes that fit, but I found these
New Balance shoes were the perfect size for her. She can not get over how comfortable they are. I am not going to find a casual pair of shoes for her to wear with slacks and maybe another pair to wear with a
skirt. Thank you Zappos, you make me look good.

New Balance for kids -- have been buying them for my son since he was a toddler. They are well-made and comfortable. I especially love this grey color -- it goes with anything, great for school and play, and resists dirt and grime. I just put a half dozen shoes in my cart for my son (9 years old) and let him choose the ones he wanted -- he picked the
New Balance (over
Nike,
Puma,
Adidas, etc.).

They are a great fit for the active toddler in my family. The width is perfect and they take a good beating on a daily basis. The only thing I would change about the shoes is the strap that goes across the top. These shoes are designed for wide feet, but the strap is not too forgiving for the width on the top. If you are ok with the strap not closing completely, then it is not a problem. Honestly, it is more for looks than anything else. But the truth is that this is our second pair. He loved and grew out of the first.

Love these! Have 2 boys and after getting this pair for one of my boys, I ordered a pair in my other son's size. They seem pretty true to size and they are easy on/off and hold up very well. I've washed one pair a couple times and they look good as new.

My four year old has been wearing these for about a year and has never complained about them. In fact, he tells me that they make him super fast. He can put them on easily and they stay fastened.
The reason I was on this page is actually because I plan on ordering another pair in the next size up and may consider them for our 2 year old daughter if her tiny little feet are ever big enough!

Very comfortable shoe and looks great too! Lots of padding and good tread. Runs a bit small but not a full half size smaller.

I have been buying the
new balance 990 and 993 wide size for many years. My boys love them and never complain. This pair was a little shorter in the strap. Sometimes the straps stretch because of the material and I decided to keep them.
