Had been eying these for a while when they went on sale here so I snatched them up. I was looking for a replacement for my well-worn and on-their-way-out
Bass bucks which I loved a lot. I had to return/reorder these from Zappos as the first pair I got had one shoe with pretty sketchy suede. Maybe that's why they were on sale, but there was a noticeable difference between the quality and color of each shoe. The second pair I got was much better. These shoes are supremely comfortable, and were the perfect upgrade in what I was looking for. The eyelets are set farther up the shoe, making getting into them a little bit more difficult but ultimately providing a more snug fit; usually I don't like to hide laces under my
pants (I don't wear super skinny
jeans) but these have worked perfectly. Definitely a bit more of a casual look versus dark brown/black
leather shoes, but for my office purposes they are perfect; look great paired with dark
denim or khakis. I generally wear a size 9 1/2 or 10 shoe, but after trying on a 10 in a store and swimming in them, I went with the 9.5. They are still just a touch big, but I think a 9 would be too tight. My foot, too, is on the wider side which makes shopping for
dress shoes tricky as they are usually on a narrow footbed, but I have had no trouble with these. The only tricky part now is the transition between brand new and clean and well-worn and loved.
