Reading the reviews, I ordered a half size smaller and the fit was perfect. The quality looks great but only time will tell. Love the shoe and glad I ordered a half size down. Very happy with the purchase.

I have been shopping for black shoes for years (I just do not like many of the available styles so I usually stick to auburn and brown). Then I came across this Frye style, black on black design. They are very sharp, in a subtle way. And they look great with dress slacks. I am a size 11½ - 12, so when the 11½ were too large I was worried. Zappos has a great return policy so I swapped them for the size 11, which felt a bit snug on the sides, while the length was correct. Now, I was worried. I really liked the style/design and I did not want to spend another few years finding the right black shoes, so I decided to stick with the size 11. And I am glad that I did. Although a bit on the heavy side, the shoes are very comfortable and feel great. I am a professor and spend a lot of time on my feet and these shoes will help in this respect. Even though they are a bit pricey, I would recommend Frye for style and comfort. And I look forward to purchasing from Zappos again in the future.

Awesome shoes. For sure order a size down, I'm a 13 & tried both 12 & 13, 12 is perfect.

Hip version of a classic style. Seems like a well-built shoe. Nice heavy sole that will take some wear. Seems a touch big.

Handsom shoe. Comfortable and classic preppy. The waxed suede will wear well and develope style with adge. I got the brown waxed suede because I expect it will keep its rugged charm. The flexible rubber sole keeps it from being a stiff dress shoe. Worth the $$$. Frye is my go to shoe company for all the reasons listed above.

Very nice looking and well made shoe. Receiving compliments and it is now breaking in. I am a fan of the Fryes I have bought. Sizing in inconsistent though. These were 1 size "smaller" than the Frye boots I got last year. So expect you may have to send back and get a smaller size.

Most comfortable oxford I own. True to size, comfortable sole, very nice - sometimes I forget I'm wearing oxfords because they feel more like tennis shoes. I love them and the fit gets better every time I wear them.

I ordered an 11.5. They were huge. I returned them and took a risk and ordering a full size shorter than I usually do, and I still have room in the toes. I ordered some Frye black dress oxfords at the same time in 11.5, and those are a perfect fit. So, these shoes are not made over the same form, apparently. Even within the same company there are pretty big sizing discrepancies. Otherwise, the quality seems fantastic; the leather thick yet flexible. The sole, while not ugly and obtrusive, feels solid and like it'll last several years. I've only worn them for a day, but they aren't ripping up my Achilles heel or rubbing my ankles raw like some other shoes do before breaking in.

Frye shoes are the best longest lasting shoes made. I have four pair, oldest 10 years, and still going strong. They look better with age. Although not dressy, perfect with jeans or khakis.

Very dissatisfied with the quality of these shoes right out of the box! Eyelets were pulled from the leather before I even pulled them out of the box! White glue residue had squeezed through the decorative holes in the saddle overlay and was left there to dry. The dried glue was very prominent against the dark brown finish. These shoes were pretty heavy too, but that could have been overlooked had the quality been on par with other pairs of shoes at this price.
