I am a size medium, but I wanted these to be baggy laid back lounging
pants, so I got them in size large. Prior to washing, they fit exactly how I hoped they would; loose all over, but not huge in the waist, long enough to touch the tops of my feet but not cover my toes, and very comfortable. After washing (delicate cycle, cold water) and drying (tumble delicate, low heat), not only were they skin-tight from the waist to the knees (hello, panty line!), but they were so short they hit above my ankle. After wearing them around the house (including a nap) for two days, they are no longer too snug to wear in public, and they now cover my ankles, but they are not the same great fit they were pre-wash. On the plus side, the colors are still vibrant (I absolutely love the colored stripes!) and all of the buttons are still attached and intact after two launderings. The pockets on the back are sewn shut. Oddly, they seem to be real pockets inside. I am tempted to take a seam-ripper to them, but I am afraid that they might hang open and look goofy or something.
