I would have to disagree that these are all that small. I'm a 6 in sandals
and a 6.5 in closed shoes and have a medium to wide foot with a bunion, and the 6 basically fit, however I do agree that these are a bit oddly sized and shaped. The front strap is disproportionately tighter than the back one, which is odd, since it's the back one that normally should be holding the foot down, whereas the ball of the foot could be a bit looser, though i think they might stretch just enough. Also the front part of the sole is excessively wide in relation to the size foot that the front strap allows to fit there. So there's a lot of empty surface space where the toes are, yet the foot is on the verge of feeling scrunched. I think maybe this is part of the somewhat rugged look and style of the shoe. The soles on these have a lot more heavy duty rubber tread than most Born sandals
. You could probably go on a mild hike in these or short walk on a trail in the woods and that wide sole would protect your toes somewhat, and you would have enough stickiness to not slip on damp rocks. It's that unusually rugged appeal that is the reason that i am still thinking about keeping these. I think i might have use for something like this after all and was also looking for a thong-less slip on to run around in. Oh, and i should mention, as you might expect for this kind of sole, these are a bit on the heavy side too, but since there's enough shoe to keep them fairly securely on the foot, I don't find this to be a huge problem.
