My daughter loves this suit! The ruffles at the top are feminine but not babyish for a 13 year old. The 12 fit my petite and very thin daughter with slight alterations in the bottoms. Normal size kids would probably need to size up. We buy Roxy suits because they run more narrow than others. For sizing, think Abercrombie Kids super skinny jeans.
