This is my second pair of Pikolinos boots and they do not disappoint. I have been fortunate in that both pairs of boots were on sale when I purchased them, but knowing the comfort and quality I can expect, I will likely pay full price for any future Pikolinos purchases if I need to. I have what are considered large calves, but when I have purchased wide calf boots from other brands, the boots were bunched and cheap looking. These boots, at 15-16 inch circumference, are snug to begin with, but eventually loosen up to a comfortable fit. The heel is on the high end of medium, but is very sturdy and flattering. In addition, both pairs of Pikolinos I own took less than a day to break in, and can be comfortably worn for 8-12 hours. One thing to note, this particular boot has a shearling or fleece lining (I don't exactly know which), which is great for a Chicago Fall/Winter, but might prove too warm for less harsh climates.

I might need to add to my previous review. I think the lining is not faux fur but real shearling. Anyway, it's luxurious and very warm.

Good looking boot but there is a weather proofing piece inside the zipper near the bottom that rubs against the ankle and is uncomfortable. Had to return. I have several Pikolinos though that I love.

This would have been my second pair of Pikolinos but they did not fit. I own another pair of the boots, specifically the Brujas (I think that's their name) and I wear them in a size 40 (and they're very comfy and fit perfect). However, I got these in the size 40 and they're way too tight. Sent them right back. I can also see how another reviewer said the waterproof piece on the inside rubbed her ankle and made the boots uncomfortable, I felt that in only the 5 minutes I had them on. Hopefully you have more luck than me with the size. The boots looked okay, looked nicely made but I wasn't a huge fan of the stitch detail on the side, looks kind of weird in person in my opinion. These are my second pair of Pikolinos and I love them! Because I am long-legged, the higher shaft is perfect. I am a teacher and have worn these all day and into the night in great comfort. I was surprised by the low pile lining, but here in Colorado, that is a nice bonus.
