Let me begin by saying I love, love, LOVE these
boots! They look amazing and are so comfortable. And the warmth combined with the extremely beautiful design and appearance make this an excellent choice. But here's my quandary: I ordered these and a couple of other
brands to try on because I need a new pair of
boots for snow, cold-weather and, mainly, DOG-WALKING! I've had a pair of
Uggs Brooks (short) for 9 years and, sadly,
Ugg doesn't make the short ones anymore, only the tall ones. I really "dogged" (pardon the pun) the
Uggs up and they took all the mud, rain, snow, goose poop, ice salt and rocky terrain that was dished out. But these Vogue
boots are almost too nice. The Vogue
boots seem to have all the warm of my
Uggs, but they are so much more stylish and flattering than the
Uggs. Even though they are suede, my understanding is that they are also waterproof (or water-repellent) so that isn't the issue. But they lack a few attributes that the
Uggs have. For one, once you zipper these up, the fit around the ankle is very snug. I have narrow ankles and calves, but I think the fit would be a bit too tight with leggings or thick
socks, and skinny
jeans tucked into these would definitely be uncomfortable around the ankle/calf. I doubt most people would even be able to zipper them. So, barefoot, or with thin tights or
socks, these are great! They would look awesome with a
skirt. They almost are sexy! But are they practical for my purposes? I'm not sure. Since they don't go much above the ankle, they don't provide the full warmth that something like the
Uggs Brooks Tall provide. And that is exactly why I'm probably going with the
Uggs. I wish I could be indulgent and keep these "just because". :(
