I have very narrow calves and had been looking for a riding type boot to fit them. This is it! They are perfect with jeans or leggings tucked in. I was hesitant to spend so much money on one pair of boots, but I am glad that I did. I recently wore them three days in a row while traveling, and they were very versatile and comfortable. Winter is coming. We will see how they hold up to the snow and salt.

I travel extensively in Europe and walk miles in cities -- some with cobblestone pavement. So I am always on the lookout for boots that are stylish enough to wear with dresses but are still tough enough to stand up to real wear. It's more difficult to find this combination than you would think. These boots fit the bill -- fairly pretty but really hardy as well. And very comfortable. Worth the money.

Beautiful boots and I had hopes that they would be tight enough around my skinny legs but no luck--too loose in the calf.

The boot was tight around my calves, without pants, yet stretched to fit in boot-cut jeans if I wanted to but this was probably because I had extra room around my ankle where I could fold the jeans and the top of the boot allows for stretching. The only real con is that the shoe felt slightly longer and narrower than the typical size 8 yet still fit my size 8 foot. Although I do not wear thick socks, I doubt that I would be able to fit them in if I tried. I am not sure if going up half a size will work since it already feels longer, it just may be too big.

Oh my gosh, these are the BEST BOOTS EVER! Yes, they are expensive, but you are paying for quality and style that I'm not sure you can get from less expensive boots. They are lined, so very warm, and have a memory foam foot sole, so very comfortable. They are just wide enough so that I can tuck jeans into them, but they are narrow enough to be worn with skirts. I walk in these without socks, and my feet stay warm. Love these boots!

Stylish, very comfortable boot. Sole has good grip and is flexible. Nice leather and well made. 15" calf size is accurate. Gusset at top makes it fit well both over jeans and with nylons.

I have been a fan of La Canadienne for three years since I bought my first pair. I always loved their boots, they are very comfortable. I bought this pair almost three years ago and I still wear them almost everyday. They are perfect for San Francisco weather, especially when it is rainy. I always give five stars because I really enjoy them. But recently, when I was wearing them in a heavy rain, I noticed that my boots feel a little bit damp at the bottom. I usually wear them when it rains a little bit, but not heavily and usually there is no heavy rain in San Francisco. Even though I understand that over three years, I have worn them a lot almost 2/3 of the time, I am still a little bit upset by the fact that the shoes start to leak over only three years. They are a little bit damp, which is not really a big deal, but for such expensive shoes, I would expect them to last a little bit longer especially they say they are water proof. But anyways, I still am considering buying more in the future. I might try to be more careful though, after all they cannot be treated as rain boots.

I have the La Canadienne Caleb boot in brown and love them so much I thought I would get a black pair. I ordered Perlie as they are slightly different than the Caleb (and cheaper). I based the size I ordered off of how the Caleb fit/is listed. I am sending Perlie back as the shaft circumference was tighter than the 15.5 listed (Caleb = 15) and the shaft height didn't appear to be 15.5 (Caleb = 15 and since it slouches a little in the ankle the extra 1/2 in Perlie should have been noticeable). I also thought overall the boot was narrow and tight. That being said it is a good boot in the looks and quality departments, too bad they didn't work for me.
