Like many, I think
New Balance shoes have been going downhill for years, and yet, the 574 has remained my favorite sneaker. So when I noticed that these shared the same shoe last as the 574, I had to give them a try and I'm glad I did.
Why? Because they're basically the same shoe, except they're lighter (probably less padding) and more sporty. I still prefer the 574, but the nylon uppers of the 501 remind me of
running shoes when I was a kid. I think they'll be great for next Summer.
Overall, these are basically 574's with a different look to them. Can't go wrong there.

These are sharp looking shoes, but not much more. They feel a little narrow, but I like a wide toe box.

Very pleased with these shoes. They're incredibly light and comfortable to walk in for long distances/periods of time. I do not run in these, however, so I can't speak to that. My only issue is that they don't breathe very well, but it's only a minor inconvenience and not enough to stop me from buying these again.

The shoe is awesome! It is soft and flexible, comfortable to wear and trendy. The only grievance I have with it is that is does not wick moisture well through the
canvas portion (color accent) and my feet tend to heat quickly even with nylon/wool
socks, so there's that. Otherwise great and would buy again and again! Especially from Zappos and especially for the price, I mean next day shipping for free? Come on!

The shoes look great! I've already received several compliments on them. The only downside is that they start to hurt the heels of my feet after wearing them for almost a full day. If you get them for casual wear (as opposed to use while
running) I think you'll be very satisfied. I love these shoes because they go with such a wide range of outfits (they match nearly all colors and you can
dress them up or down).

New Balance always comes through. These are probably the lightest pair I've owned, and like all NB they're super comfortable. Love them.

I'm on my feet all day long. I was nervous on the first day I wore this shoe that I would be uncomfortable by the end of the day. I couldn't have been more wrong. I love the look and feel of this shoe; it fits like a dream. I love the navy version of this shoe and plan to purchase another pair in another color soon.

Very light and comfy. Less padding and support than the NB 574, but still nice and cushiony. Smaller toe box, too, but still kind of roomy. Very well padded to wear around town, but I would not recommend them as a
running shoe as I think a runner would want more support.
