The concept here is great. It's a good-looking shoe, it's got a lot of mesh to stay cool in the summer, and it's quite comfortable and cushy. Unfortunately, there's no padding around the ankle, which lets your heel slip around a lot, and the cutouts for your ankle bones are too high, so the shoe cuts into your ankles as you walk. It also seems to be extremely high-volume, as I really had to tighten the laces to get the shoe comfortably tight. The sole is also extremely thick and wedgy; this style of shoe really benefits from a lower-profile sole with less rise from ball to heel. Ideally,
Olukai could redo this shoe with a more padded ankle collar, a thinner sole, and the same looks, and then it'd be perfect. If you've got very high-volume feet, give 'em a try. Otherwise,
Olukai needs to work on these a bit.
