I love the style of these shoes! However, when I went to try them on my son, I could not physically get them on his foot! I ordered a size up so he could grow into them for the summer. But, the lacing style is horrible and the tongue is too short to grab onto. I was so happy to receive them but was seriously disappointed the second I tried to get them on my one year old.

Well made and environmentally responsible. Very stiff construction, and not easy to put on.

I had the same problem of getting this shoe on my 3 year old. It is extremely hard to get on his foot. The lacing is nice because you do not have to tie, but doesn't open wide enough to get his foot into. I kept the shoe because it is very cute but every time we have to get them on it is a chore.

Same problem as last reviewer! I bought a size 11 for my 3 year old (1/2 to 1 full size larger) than his normal size. He is a 10 in the Vans and Crazy 8 shoes he currently has. Also a size 9 in Hatley rainboots. I couldn't even get my son's foot in this shoe. He doesn't have wide feet but he does seem to have a high instep so maybe that is the problem...but seriously the shoe doesn't open wide enough. Otherwise it's a cute style and seems to be very well made. I would recommend these for narrow children who can put their own shoes on. This style is too hard for parents to put on kids. These are true to length but not width.

These are great shoes for hiking, traveling, running, and climbing around slippery rocks. I have taken these to Central Africa, South America, and Coastal Maine to name a few. They performed great, but do not do a great job of drying out in cooler or more humid climates, which in turn makes these shoes stink. All in all though, I would recommend Kia'I to anyone who needs amphibious shoes that are more adaptable to rougher terrain. If you are going to be going in and out of the water a lot. I would recommend a Salomon techamphibian, or something similar. Also they look cool with jeans, which helpful at the airport.

Just bought these shoes for long walks/hikes in Hawaii. They were very comfortable, but deadly slick on wet surfaces. If you want a water shoe for dry surfaces or wet trail, these will work. If you wear on wet smooth surfaces, you might as well be ice skating. I was bummed because I liked the shoes a lot.

I didn't know this brand until I tried the Moloa on in a store and experienced extreme comfort! I needed some athletic shoes though, so I looked to see if they made something and found this trainer. It's also extremely comfortable. I usually wear a 12-13 and had to order the 14. I never ordered that size before, so they run very small. I'm very happy with these and they are so comfortable...and look really nice too!

Ran a hair small. I wear an 11.5. After I took out the footbed and put in some Super Feet, the fit well. The stock footbed was very thick. I've also noticed they smell after just a few wearings. I wear wool socks (which usually wick and don't smell) and these shoes smell kind of strongly. Not sure if it's a matter of more airflow or what. Still, comfortable and I like the stiffness of of the sole. They are also very light. Looking forward to taking them on vacation.

First let me just reiterate what an incredible company Zappos is, the customer service is with out a doubt second to none, other companies should take note. Based on the reviews I ordered an 11 instead of my usual 10½ and they were too big. I have several other Olukai shoes and sandals and in my opinion they are true to size. As with my other Olukai shoes these are outstanding! The fit and comfort are second to none and they are to my surprise very light in weight. The quick tie feature is just that and simple to use. I cannot recommend this company any more, they have incredible products and they last forever as well. Do yourself a favor and pick up something from them and you will not be disappointed. Oh, and Zappos, please remember your best quality, amazing customer service in an age of horrific customer service!

Lightweight and comfortable. OluKai is fast becoming my go to brand for all things footwear related. All day wear, standing and walking miles and miles, my feet feel fine. These took about a day or two to break in the footbed. Also run slightly small. Ordered my normal size at first and they would only fit if barefoot. Went 1/2 size up and all is perfect.

The concept here is great. It's a good-looking shoe, it's got a lot of mesh to stay cool in the summer, and it's quite comfortable and cushy. Unfortunately, there's no padding around the ankle, which lets your heel slip around a lot, and the cutouts for your ankle bones are too high, so the shoe cuts into your ankles as you walk. It also seems to be extremely high-volume, as I really had to tighten the laces to get the shoe comfortably tight. The sole is also extremely thick and wedgy; this style of shoe really benefits from a lower-profile sole with less rise from ball to heel. Ideally, Olukai could redo this shoe with a more padded ankle collar, a thinner sole, and the same looks, and then it'd be perfect. If you've got very high-volume feet, give 'em a try. Otherwise, Olukai needs to work on these a bit.

I love the arch support of this shoe. I then ordered a pair of the Makapu U shoe, and it is very different...almost no arch support, very soft sole. I wish the Makapus were built like the Trainers.

I loved the look of the shoes, but found that they run really small. I normally wear a men's size 9, but the size 9's that I first ordered felt like size 7's. Way too small, to the point where I almost thought I was sent women's sneakers instead. So, I returned them for size 10's. I've never worn a size 10 - ever - in my life. The right shoe fit. The left shoe felt another size smaller. Still cramped. So I am returning these as well and will likely not try another version of the OluKai Kia'I Trainer. Everything seemed great otherwise about the shoe, but I can't spend so much time trying to get a shoe to fit...even with Zappos' awesome return service. Too bad, really. I had high hopes for these.
