Being a BMX guy all my life, riding a long board was never on my radar. My son started skateboarding when he was 7 and has shown great improvement over the years. He would always try to encourage me to get a board and ride. I never took any interest until recently. He tried out a long board 4 months ago and was converted. I saw how much fun it was for him and the recent move to Japan has my BMX bike still in transit from the states. I figured what the hell and gave it my best effort, sure enough I got hooked. He had been researching a board that he wanted and found this particular Globe board on the internet. His birthday was the perfect time to purchase it. Being a 36 year old man never having ridden a skate board, let alone a long board in my life, I have to say that in a few short days I was up and running. This board is well balanced, it has a smooth ride, as is. I have not upgraded yet. The wide deck, smooth bearings and unique shape make it very easy and fun to just cruise. This board would make the perfect first timers board, building your confidence to try new modes of transportation. I am extremely pleased with this board and plan to buy myself one. If you are looking for a way to get around, have fun and spend some quality bonding time with your kids, then this is the board I highly recommend to you.
