My first
Pearl Izumi jersey, I purchased red and black. It just arrived today, and I have yet to ride with it. But I wanted to give my impressions after seeing it and wearing it for a while. At first, I thought the red color was dull and this disappointed me. But, it must have been the lights in the room. This red is electric in natural light, and very visible even in overcast conditions. To me it is a bit on the orange side, but I like it, and it should get me noticed on the road. It is definitely semi-form fitting, which I also like. I'm 6'2"/200 pounds, and I take a large size generally. This in large fit as I expected. The length seems a bit short, but I think that is only because I have jerseys of another brand that run long; too long. I would prefer a solid gripper strip around the bottom, instead of the gripper "dots" that are used. Tailoring is very nice, with no puckers along the zipper. The collar stands up nicely, and is very comfortable. The fabric used for the color part of the jersey has a soft feel, and the sleeves are made of a different silky material. Nice touch. A huge plus for me is the way the seams are handled on the inside. I hate to feel seams against my skin. These are flat sewn, not very wide, and really not noticeable at all. I plan on adding another color or two to my collection (blue and yellow look good), and they will definitely be ordered from Zappos. Finally, there is no sweat-proof pocket on this jersey. PI evidently intended to add one, but it didn't make it to the production model. They still included it in their advertising, and it is mentioned on the hang tag. I emailed PI about this, and they said they would update their advertising.
