I travel overseas about 4-6 times a year and travel domestically 40-50 times a year. I was looking for a wheeled carry on that could manage both, so that meant going to a 20". I have used Timbuk2 products and gave this a try. I have been really impressed. On domestic flights, it easily fits in the overhead and being soft sided, it has some flexibility to fit in to smaller planes. I love the skateboard wheels - they just glide around the airport. The inside allows me to pack a number of ways, up to a weeks worth of clothes and stuff. It is divided inside into to halves, so you can keep things separate. I love the pockets on the front, which are perfect for tickets, passport, etc. and another for magazines, my iPad, or other stuff you want to access during the flight. There are not a lot of bells and whistles on the interior, but I am a seasoned road warrior that does not need someone putting a bunch of useless pockets in my carryon. The one feature I love that I have not seen before is the bottom shoe pocket on the lower outside of the bag. This lets me pack a pair of extra shoes, flip flops, etc. so I can easily change, depending on where I am going without opening my suitcase. So far, I am a big fan of this bag. It makes it's maiden voyage to Cambodia in about two weeks. I will update this if my experience changes, but I don't think it will.

I love the two (one on each side) zippered enclosures to keep my clothes in place when it zip the two sides of the clamshell together. No other bag seems to have this. I love being able to open the bag and just live out of it, since more of my stuff is accessible, being in one or the other half of the open bag. I like that the shoe compartment is separate, but I found I did not need to access it from the outside. It was awkward, in fact, to get at my shoes when the bag was open. I used to just put my shoes in a separate wrapper inside the bag, and that would work fine. This separate shoe compartment collapses, so I can continue to do this if I prefer. The problem I had with the bag was that it got rejected by two airlines, Iberia and British Airways, as a carry-on. In both instances, the bag would have fit just fine in the overhead compartment, but the flight attendants would not let me take it on board, pointing the the baggage gauge. In the former instance, it was apparently overweight. In the latter instance, the flight attendant was forcing many passengers to put their bags in the gauge. Mine did not fit simply because of the wheels. Its bloated appearance is probably what cued the flight attendant to pick it out of the crowd. I was not happy about that.

Oh, the awesomeness of this bag! I now have two, but don't want to share. How does all that stuff fit in there? Must be the deep clamshell design and the zippered mesh covers that stretch over my stuff. Oh, look -- another pocket... Meanwhile, outside -- is that a strap to attach a tote? Wow -- a shoe bag that has external access. Here comes my bag on the belt. No one else's looks the same. Hope the handle side is up...it is! But wait -- every side has a handle. Time to roll. Skateboard wheels cruise along. Oops -- a curb. Grab the super sturdy handle and up she comes. Hit the button, drop the handle and slide it into the truck. On the way back I'll carry on because this bag loves overhead bins. A perfect fit...but how does all my stuff fit in there?

Great bag! Thought I overstuffed it (over 50 pounds), but my packed bag weighed only 20 pounds! Could have taken a lot more! Seems to be made of very quality materials and stands out in a sea of black luggage. Totally happy with the bag; however, all other small 2 wheeled luggage I've researched have their telescoping handles retract into a protective sleeve instead of being exposed. Lots of pockets - some hidden - and compression/mesh zippered pockets keep things in order. Thanks, Zappos!
