I got this bag in red from Zappos and love it, but I agree with everyone else that says it's too heavy. I think it's all that brass hardware along with big style of the bag. Even though it's small, the leather is substantial. I hate using the little handles; always makes me feel like an old bitty! I only buy bags
with shoulder straps and though this one has one, it's way too narrow at only 3/4" wide and cuts into your shoulder! I have no problem with the size of the opening being too tight. So I went online looking for some kind of shoulder pad thingy I could use to make it better and found one at amazon.com. It's a Domko padded strap holder mostly used by professional camera guys for their heavy bags
. It's too wide at 2" and it's about 10" long, but the strap of the bag fits inside the velcro
tabs nicely and the cushioning is great. I can now use the bag in comfort, albeit the Domko looks a bit weird on it. The top part is a black leather look hard plastic, and the cushion part is beige heavy duty foam rubber covered in fabric, I think. I plan on using a permanent marker to make it all black. I want to get this bag in black with tan trim, and will just switch out the strap cushion and use between the two bags
. I am in my 60's and this is my first "expensive" designer bag! I have never purchased anything but a black bag my entire life! Now when I need to find my purse, I can easily find it. This was just a spur of the moment purchase; I studied the sizes for each bag of D & B and realized this is the only one I liked for features, looks, and size as I'm only 5'2" tall. It holds a lot and it's not that deep so it's easy to find what you need, fast. Buy it, you'll love it!
