I ordered Redwood, which I would consider a dark cognac (so lighter than the picture, and not quite as brown) - a very nice and versatile color that goes with just about everything. The shaft of the boot is quite a good width. I have size 10 feet, and the 10 fit perfectly, whereas some 10s seem a bit small at times. (Compared to other
Frye 10
boots, I think this runs a little larger.) Anyway, the shaft fits nicely over
jeans, and the ankle is still not too loose. After a few wears, the leather loosens in this area, and it does slouch a bit. But they still maintain a nice shape. The padded footbed makes all the difference in the world. These are leaps and bounds more comfortable than my other Fryes. Why didn't they add this feature sooner?! I can tell they will wear well; the construction looks even better than my previous
Frye boots. The price is a bit steep, but I got mine on another site at a
discount. I can see myself wearing them a lot and would definitely say that they are worth it if you want a boot that will last a while. My
Steven Intyce
boots from last year looked "vintage" (read: crappy) after only a month. So for half the price, you can expect half the quality of what you will get with the
Frye Jane.
