I've had this shoe now for some months and have to say I just love this shoe and wear it to death. I'm thrilled to see that the brown shades are back in stock. I don't ordinarily do this, but I bought the shoe in black owing to the fact that the browns that I liked were out and remained such for awhile. Though I took my second choice, I never had a moment's regret. The shoe is just so sassy/classy with a hearkening to a Texas boot with its chunky boot-like heel and slightly upturned toe box. I wear it with slacks, pair it with boot-legged jeans and casual jacket, and love it with opaque tights and a knee-length skirt. I confess, here in the South, the Oxford has not yet hit big and give 'em a season or two, however, when I travel back home to the Northeast, this shoes garners so many compliments and queries as to their make and origin of purchase. I wear my custom orthodics in them, no problem. This shoe fit me out of the box, even with my orthos.

This are my fifth pair of Fryes. I always wear 6½ with Fryes but often wear a 7 in other brands. For reference, my Veronica Slouches in 6½ were very snug initially (I almost exchanged them for a larger size), and I had to break them in for a couple of months, while my Melissa Buttons in 6½ fit great right out of the box. I ordered these in 6½ and yes, they seem about ½" too long in the toe, but the sizing is otherwise perfect. I think a smaller size would be too narrow from my experience, but Fryes do stretch nicely when they initially feel a tad snug. I have high arches and my feet are a tad on the narrow side. I got the cognac (the tan was sold out), and it is a beautiful rich brown color that goes well with just about any color! They are so much cuter on my feet than I even hoped for.

Have these in two colors now. They are so comfortable yet stylish. I like that they are more feminine than some of the others I tried on. I vary from a 7.5 or an 8. The 7.5 fitted me perfectly. I did get a blister first day I wore them but I was wearing thin socks and walked the dog 4 miles! They are nicely broken in now!

I cant believe how fast I received my exchange! I got my exchange n less than 24 hours! Great customer service! So here are the measurements on the 7 1/2. Please compare to measurements on the review I wrote for the size 7 in Smoke. Heel to toe - 10.5 inches widest part - 3.75 back heel - 2.5 inches. I measured across the top of the shoe that covers the top of the foot and got 7 inches. I wear a 7.5 in all Born shoes so I think these are true to size. So far I'm very happy with these shoes. I hope to be able to wear them without too much break in.

Love them! Comfortable even the first time wearing them. True to size. I might have to order another color!

I am a 10 in most shoes, but take a 9.5 in these. Each pair fits differently, I had to try a few, which zappos was great about. If you are looking for a perfect oxford, look no further. Like all Fryes, nice substantial leather that will last for years. The toe box on this is extra roomy. Good alternative to sneakers, which do not stretch or mold to your foot. Heel is high enough to look fancy, yet is more comfortable than a flat sole. Can dress up or down: have worn these with a gown and fishnets...but they work equally well with menswear such as tweed trousers.

These are pricey but great shoes. I am normally a size 9, and after reading other reviews that suggested getting a half size down, I ordered a 9 and an 8.5. The 8.5 fit great, so the 9 went back. I usually break new shoes in by only wearing them at work, and after about a week of daily office wear, these broke in nicely. They were slightly stiff at first, and the laces were stiff as well, so they tended to come untied, but they are softer now, and the laces have broken in too. They look great as professional as well as casual shoes. They are very high quality, so I don't mind paying more for them. I expect them to last a good long time, and they can be resoled or reheeled as need be.

There aren't many shoes I can just put on out of the box and wear. This is one! Very well crafted, beautiful leather, comfortable and great with pants, jeans and casual skirts & dresses. I love them, well worth the price.

Wow! This shoe is beautiful. I bought it half intending to send it back, since, even on sale, these shoes are a chunk of change for me. But, after taking the Carson Oxfords out of the box, I can't stand to part with them. They are strikingly attractive, well-made, and yes, comfortable. It is so clear that the higher cost leads to higher quality here. They are much more stylish and feminine in person than they appear in these photos. Go for it! These shoes are worth it.

Once again Frye does for me! A very retro/British look, true to size and quite elegant, yet wonderful for jeans.
