My first TNF
jacket, and I'm very impressed! It's a high-performance
jacket that still keeps an understated, classy look. Regarding fit, I found it a little tight in the armpit if I wanted to layer a sweater underneath. Otherwise, the cut looks great. I wore it in a variety of conditions before deciding to keep it. In the course of a week, New England weather served up this variety: About 50F: With just a t-shirt underneath, I was very comfortable. 25F, 20mph wind: With a t-shirt and light sweater underneath, it was chilly. Though with brisk walking, I warmed up quickly. 16F: Shoveling snow with a t-shirt and light sweater underneath, I was sweating about 10 minutes in. I had to zip down the
jacket. For such a light
jacket, it keeps you surprisingly warm. I have no problem wearing this in high-20's to low-30's weather, and it keeps out wind incredibly well. Wear a baselayer underneath your
pants and you'll be able to tackle all but the nastiest bits of winter weather.
