The perfect shoe in many ways! I looked and looked for a shoe I could wear on a long trip, one that would be comfortable and supportive all day, but would look more like a shoe than a sneaker. Although I have a very hard time finding comfortable shoes, I care about style as well. I'd about given up when I found these. I have bunions, which mean my feet are wide and sensitive to rubbing, so
mary jane styles just don't work for me. But these do! The top comes up high enough on the foot to avoid rubbing, but is still cut low enough to be cute. And the edging around the top is super-soft, so no chafing. In addition, they have a lot of support - much more so than other casual
flats. With the contrast stitching and rubber trim (and the silver patch on the back, which I could do without), they are still more sporty than dressy, but I have worn them with
skirts and they look very cute. Under black slacks, they will be totally appropriate at all but the very dressiest spots. They run a little wide (which I needed), but that gives you room to add an
insole for additional cushioning (although the
Ecco cushioning is good). All in all, a shoe that fills a huge need - I think I'll get a ton of wear out of them. (I've been wearing them without
socks this summer, but will not hesitate to wear them with black
socks in cooler weather.)
