velcro.
Not as light as
Nike or other athletic specialty maker's

Great shoe for grandson -
My grandson has cerebral palsy and this is a great shoe for him. With the
velcro straps he can put his shoes on himself. The black color looks good for all situations.

Wonderful Sturdy Shoe -
This shoe is absolutely wonderful, my son is autistic, and cannot tie laces. He can put these on by himself. The support his foot and am the most comfortable shoe he says he ever has worn. Thank you for a great product.

Extremely pleased with this practical shoe...
a refreshingly unadorned with logos shoe, which my 3 children all say is very comfortable and easy even for a 3 year old to put on and off without assistance.

Fantastic -
My daughter is SO difficult to buy shoes for. Every single pair is too tight somewhere or uncomfortable in the sole or feels weird. (Yes, she is also bothered by tags and textures of
clothing). And given that she is SO active, we desperately needed
velcro. These shoes are the one and only pair after dozens tried that she liked.
Stride Rite, PLEASE keep making these shoes!!!!! She LOVES them and both she and I are thrilled. She says they are SO comfortable.

My son has a wide foot and I was able to get this shoe in half sizes in wide. They fit him perfect and he loves them.

My son has a wide foot, and I can never find a true W width before but these are great, comfortable, perfect fit and nice looking. Because he is at the stage when looks matter and he loved them, I will also be purchasing the white ones this week. I love Zappos quick shipping you have earned a loyal customer. Can't Tie? No Problem!
I love that this shoe is available in such a wide range of sizes. My son has Autism, does not like change, and has a wide foot. This shoe is available as he grows so his shoe always "looks the same" as he grows AND no tying required!
Boys move fast! Proud he can do himself! Great year-round school shoe (boy or girl).
