Vasque Aether Tech - Great support! The lacing system (BOA) is outstanding. It allows yopu to really get a snug fit. It's wonderful for airline travel as you can get them on and off quickly.

I'm pleased!!! Hands down the best fitting running shoes I've ever owned. I may never but another shoe again ever. The pic of the shoe on this page isn't the shoe I bought.

Trail Running Shoe - For a "trail" shoe and the price it seemed a little light duty. However, the soles are rugged and that is probably what is important. Very comfortable. Innovative lacing system works well, however, I'm not sure what to do if it ever breaks.

Nice shoe, but the BOA lacing system needs work - I really liked the fit of this shoe. I normally wear size 15 (even in Vasque), but a size 14 in this one was the best fit. The BOA lacing system is convenient, and I really liked the FUNCTION, but a few other things were lacking. The plastic "laces" tend to squeak a little so it makes being stealthy around the house a little more difficult. One day I bent over to pick something up, putting forward pressure on the tongue of the shoe. This "popped" the ratcheting mechanism for the laces, and it hasn't held tight since. I don't believe this was a manufacturing defect; rather it was likely an engineering one. I'm having to send them back and pick out something different since my size is now unavailable.

While this shoe fits very nicely and looks very nice, there are several significant design defects that caused me to rate the show overall as a "2", especially given the price of these shoes. Have a look at the shoe: You see those nifty black "points" that extend upward into the gray area on the sides of the shoes? They start PEELING OFF after about 2 weeks of wear. The gray material is actually mesh, and apart from using superglue to re-stick these things back on, you're left with few other options. The BOA system is nice, but edges on being cost-prohibitive.
