Not enough depth for high arches -
I have very high arches / high instep, a normal width forefoot, and very narrow heels. I also have a rather thick pair of
orthotics (5mm foam). This shoe was recommended to me as something that might have enough depth for me; unfortunately, it was not even close. I ordered my normal size and the shoe was so shallow (both in the toes and in the straps, that is, the straps weren't long enough), that I could only fit my feet in the shoe comfortably if I took out both
insoles! And obviously you shouldn't wear a shoe without any
insoles! The shoe was also just a hair too narrow in the forefoot (but not in the heel), but since it was so shallow I knew that once I found a size with enough depth it would be too long or too wide, so I did not try another size. The shoe was also fairly stiff, both the sole and the leather upper, so it may take some breaking in. The two removable
insoles are a great idea, so I still think this shoe is worth a try if you have normal to flat feet or a thin orthotic. Especially since this shoe looks nicer than most orthotic-friendly shoes!
