I'm a pilot and need a boot that is airport friendly. I didn't like the look of the Justin Roper style 3170 which is advertised as being 'Airport Friendly'. I wanted a more Western styled boot. After a lot of research I chose the Ariat 34770, R-Toe, these boots do not have a steel shank, it's composite. With these boots I can walk through airport security and not have to remove my boots. These boots are not advertised as 'Airport Friendly', but they are. If you're a crew member looking for a Western Style boot you'll be happy with the Ariat. The boot fits true to size, very comfortable and easy to break in. A very high quality boot.
