I've had two pair of these thinking the first time the sole separated was just a fluke but when the same thing happened to the second pair I changed brands.

I have had two pairs of this style shoe fall apart on me in less than an eight month period. I am usually a big JM fan. Looking at different style.

I usually like Johnston & Murphy shoes but I am not a fan of this one. I have had them for 4 months and they are falling apart. The leather is peeling off of the shoe and now they look tacky. I will not buy this kind again.

These shoes have been comfortable from the moment they come out of the box. Rubber sole makes it easier to walk in the big city and they match very well with business suits.

I don't usually write reviews, but these shoes are the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever put on. All of the J&M shoes with the sheepskin lining are ridiculously comfortable. Like wearing slippers lined with pillows. I bought a pair of similar J&M casual brown shoes with the sheepskin lining the same day I bought these. So long Cole Haan, Kenneth Cole, and Clarks.

These are comfortable and easy to take on and off. They go great with jeans.

The leather looks like cheap plastic, dull and spongy. The lines of the styling on the shoes are broad and puffy, not sharp and classy, giving the styling the look of orthopedic shoes. It's too bad because they are very comfortable. J&M must do better.

I am the owner of two pairs of Johnston and Murphy lace-ups. I love them. They are comfortable and long lasting (I have had 1 pair for 7 years and the other pair for 5 years). However, the J&M Stricklin moccasins are very poorly made shoes. I bought a pair on a Saturday and after wearing them to Sunday brunch - I noticed the thread was pulling out on the top of the shoe where the elastic band is held. I exchanged the shoes that day. This morning (Monday) I put on the shoes for work and within 5 minutes I noticed the same thing with the new pair. Do not buy these shoes. I hate saying that given how much I love the feel and quality of my other J&M shoes. Those shoes -- particularly for their price point -- are high quality shoes. The Stricklin moccasins are junk.

I am not a runner, but I do walk every day a minimum of 4 miles. I am also a big guy (6ft, 235lbs) and my first priority in a shoe is great cushioning. So far, my brands of choice were Brooks, New Balance and Salomon. In total, I own about 20 pairs of sneakers. When I heard of Hoka One One, I researched the brand as max as I could and was impressed by the positive comments and decided to purchase these shoes. Let me tell you: I am absolutely stunned at how good this shoes are. I thought the max comfort I could ever find was something like a Brooks Trance 11. Well, this Hoka One One just blows the Trance 11, and every other shoes I own, out of the water, no contest! Most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. Sure they're expensive, but what you get is just an amazing shoe.

The Hokas are an interesting pair of running shoes. They look funny and they definitely require some getting used to. They have some areas that could use some improvement. The shoes are very sturdy and provide a lot of cushion. They don't provide much arch support and there is no way to lock your heel into place (as with other running shoes). So your feet tend to slide a little inside the shoe. You can adjust with different socks and by trying to adjust the laces. The fast-lace system is neat, but it is hard to get the snugness you can get with some of the regular laces (they do provide them both). The uppers are very stiff and you will need to break these in before you wear them on a long (25 - 30 miles). Also because of the way the shoe changes the dynamics of your gait, you really need to break them in and be sure your body is okay with them (I'm talking about the change can cause added strain to your calves, ankles, stabilizers, etc.).

After a knee injury during a half marathon, I switched shoes and trained for and ran a full marathon in these shoes. I absolutely love the support and energy return that these shoes provide. I am a recovering minimalist runner, and I have never felt so light on my feet than I have in these shoes. You would never believe it by looking at them. The toe box is huge, and my feet are very happy with the room they have in these shoes. I am 5'8" 135 lb female, and I average about 25-35 miles per week running. I have multiple foot and joint issues, including ITBS in my knee and hallus rigidus in my foot. These are both pre-arthritic conditions that flare up on occasion and hurt when I run, but in these shoes the pain is virtually 100% gone. These are also my go-to shoe for long distance walking and lots of time spent on my feet, such as all day at Walt Disney World. No foot pain whatsoever. By far the best shoes I have ever purchased. I just wish they weren't so funny looking :).

I am a bigger guy weighing in about 215 and I run between 20 and 30 miles a week. I have run with these shoes for about a total of 40 miles or so and they have quickly become my go to road shoe. I have knee problems and while these shoes do not completely erase all of my pain they greatly reduce it. I can really feel how they absorb the pounding I put on them. I am thinking about getting the trail version of these since I do most of my miles on the trail...we shall see.

I have plantar fasciitis and have found Hoka One to be wonderfully helpful. Two other people in my family have now bought the shoes with favorable results. I would like to purchase other colors but the sizes are always sold out.

I have down pillows strapped to my feet! I'm 250, 6 ft, and 45 years of age. I have to say my feet feel great running in this shoe. I broke my navicular bone in my foot a few years ago, have arch issues, and general problems arising due to age. Wearing these make me want to run everywhere! I have never felt anything like this before. I've always had the idea shoes should have more cushioning even when trends were moving to the "barefoot" idea. Finally, Hoka got this right. You'll never look back.

These shoes are unbelievably expensive, but so worth the money. I will definitely order another pair of these in the future. I have plantar fasciitis and arthritis in my joint in my big toe. I have tried a lot (I mean a lot) of other brands and have never found anything that compares to the comfort these shoes provide me for my P.F. I am so glad I spent the money for these shoes. I wear them all day long and have very little to no pain in my feet. I wear a 10.5 and ordered a 10.5. They are true to size, very roomy in the toebox and I like the bungee lace system. Makes it easy to tighten or loosen the shoe if I need. Also easy slip on/off. I also overpronate and require a stability shoe. I was afraid these shoes would be too bouncy, but I have not had any problems whatsoever. I used to run a lot, but since my P.F. I haven't been able to run for many years. Walking alone has been difficult over the years. I wasn't able to walk for more than 15 without having to sit down because of the pain in my feet. I am happy to say this is no longer true while I am wearing these shoes. I can walk longer and faster with these shoes on which is more than I have been able to do in a very long time. I am so happy I spent the money for these shoes. They are well worth the money for me. I recommend these shoes to everyone and I hope you enjoy them as much as I am.

Love these shoes! I am 100 lbs. overweight and have a short, wide foot with a high arch. The Monday after Thanksgiving I started the Couch-to-5k running program and was wearing some Asics when I started but saw these mentioned on a running forum the week after I started training. Intrigued, I ordered them and have hated taking them off ever since! The speed laces are fantastic, and they're actually lighter than my old runners - I tried wearing the Asics after a couple weeks in the HOO's and my legs and feet hurt almost instantly. I am currently on Week 6 of my training and running 12 minutes at a time without stopping and I know without a doubt these shoes have been instrumental in my success as a new runner! I want another pair already. Don't let the look fool you - they're not as bulky as they seem, and they're super lightweight without being cheap. Mine still look new and I'm running on both dirt and roadway.

I normally wear 10 2E running shoes in just about any brand. I was concerned that the size 10 Hokas would not be wide enough. They are fine. I am a supinator, so I have worn down the outside edge of the heel after less than 75 miles. I think the bottom material should stand up a little better than that, personally. Other than the aggressive wear, I am absolutely pleased with the Hoka Stinson EVOs. They immediately enabled me to increase distance. I have knee issues and the Hokas mitigate that very well.

I have very painful feet and finding any shoes that are reasonably comfortable is a challenge. I tried at least 8 different brands of athletic shoes before I found these. They are by far the most comfortable athletic shoe out there! I had ordered a full size larger as that's what I had to do for all the other brands but sent it back for the 1/2 size larger and it seemed to be fine. Now that I've worn them a few times I wish I'd kept the full size larger as when my feet swell or are more painful than normal, the smaller size seems to press on my big toe too much. For most people with normal feet, however, this wouldn't be a problem. I have a moderately wide foot and this show was perfect so on a narrow foot it might feel too loose. Though I am not able to pull up the strings very tight because of my high instep. A narrow footed person could cinch the strings up and be just fine. Love the shoe and especially love the style. It doesn't look like the "nursing home" white athletic shoes that I see everywhere and was determined to never wear!
