Not sure if you can tell from the picture (I couldn't), but the shoe material is pretty thin, like a moccasin, even in the heel part. I was expecting something built more like a typical athletic shoe. But this is actually pretty comfortable. The shoes are lightweight with a decent arch support (although it's a bit too far forward for my foot) and a roomy toe box. In the past Columbia has run a little short on me (size 11 womens), but these are perfect. I ordered a box full of alternatives, including Keen, Skechers, Teva, and Clarks, but the others are going back; these are the keepers.

Nice shoe and Zappos delivery is amazing! I ordered these shoes late last night and received them today at 4:00 pm, way under 24 hours after ordering, and shipping was free, as always! The shoes themselves are nice, great low profile and comfortable fit. But I am so amazed and distracted by the Zappos delivery that I can hardly concentrate on the actual shoes!

I love these shoes. For a winter shoe, they are light, ultra soft and comfortable while still providing a good sole to grip in slippery conditions. They also come in attractive colors for fun.

These are the best shoes ever! Soooo comfortable right from the start. They are water-resistant, cozy material on the inside...and so cute! I've had tons of compliments! Columbia is my new favorite brand. I got a 9 because tho I've always worn 8.5, I think my feet have gotten bigger and lately have been buying 9s. I think I could have gotten away with an 8.5 with this shoe...but since I wanted them for cold, wet weather they are perfect with slightly thicker socks. I have a high arch so think these are about moderate in arch support.

I love'em - I've been wearing these shoes for many years and truly love them. They are so comfortable, easy to slip on and they last forever. I have them in several colors and multi-colors. They go with just about everything. I wear them in the sand and brush them off and wear them to work. They always look good and I've never had any blisters or sore feet from them. Sebago's have a little less cushion than Sperry Top Siders but I love them both. I've always had these shoes in a 7.5M and they were true to size, but my foot's been shifting to an 8 M so I got my new pair in the bigger size. I feel like it's a little wide in the bigger size, but my toe is hitting the end on the smaller size. My advise would be to let your toe hit the end because the soft leather stretches othewise the width may be too wide and loose on your foot. If this is confusing then just order your size you will love them either way.
