The Black Nappa 1460W is the perfect Doc! The 1460 is too wide and these will be perfect once broken in. This is my second pair of Nappa docs, and they break in much faster than the smooth leather and are more comfy straight out of the box. The seam attaching the tongue pushes on the upper foot until broken in, but it will get looser and they will mold to your foot like all good leather. I'm usually a size 10.5-11 in boots, but the UK 8 is perfect. I also own the 1460 Nappa and the UK 8 in that style is longer and wider than these. I feel these are much more "shaped" for a woman's foot than the 1460. Definitely size down if you're between sizes, and they will stretch and mold to fit your foot with a little wear. I think someone with a wide foot should opt for the original 1460 because these are average width. My feet were swimming in the 1460, and they gave me more of a clown feet vibe. These are very attractive, slimmer cut for a female or narrow male foot, and the leather is sumptuous. If you're a female with an average width foot and can't decide which docs to buy, go with these! They look great with shorts, jeans, leggings and dresses, these boots are pure biker/rocker chick and bad to the bone. :)

I was hesitant to buy another pair of Docs, having had several pairs in college, all of which hurt like crazy during the month-long break-in period. But, after I wore through the sole of my Skechers boots this summer, I needed something, so I decided to take a chance on these. I haven't regretted it. There's been basically no break-in period with these boots. I wore them for a couple of hours each day the first two days I had them, and my feet were comfortable each time (I also threw some heel cushions in, but I do this with most of my boots). So I decided to try them for a full work day, and they were great -- I found them very comfortable to walk in. I've had them now for nearly a month, and wearing them nearly every day I've had no problem with blisters or other pain. I will say that there's only minimal cushioning in the foot-bed, so I'm looking around for a good pair of insoles for these to make them a bit more comfortable on long days. But overall I'm really happy with these boots.

Fantastic boots. These were immediately comfortable and did not require any breaking-in period at all. Soft leather, excellent style.

I just got these in the mail and love them! They do need to be broken in and get that great worn look, but other than that I am happy. One of the things I was worried about when I ordered them was that they would look big and bulky. But they really don't. It's actually rather narrow. Maybe from the side it is a big bigger but looking down at them, they are super slim. The Floral etched in adds a cool girlie factor, which I really like. I am hoping to order the full on floral printed ones for Christmas. And I will probably try a size 9. I had to order a 10 in these, because that was all that was left--and I wear 10 in boots usually. They are only a tiny bit big, but will fit great with socks.

These shoes are amazing. I just don't want to take them off! They fit great, i got a us size 10 and have a little room in them, but nonetheless they are comfy. This is a great shoes and Zappos has great service!

Normally my docs are 1 size smaller (woman's 9 and I usually wear a 10), these I ordered for woman's 10 and they fit great. At least with Zappos it isn't a pain to change if you guess wrong. Comfortable, sturdy. Have to mess with all the laces to get them on and off. I wanted leather boots for riding a motorcycle that weren't steel toes and I wasn't ready for ugly racing style boots so these are perfect because I can be comfortable walking around in them too.

I love this boot. Unfortunately it looks to ridiculous on me! So I have had them sitting on a stand for over a week contemplating on their future and have decided they must go back. Boo. Now to continue on with my great search for the perfect boot for me!

Oh. My. God. These boots are just so beautiful. I've just (just as in, literally five minutes ago) received them and they are just so full of oomph. :) I love them already. They feel perfectly comfortable and, though at first sight they seem a little fragile, the feeling's gone the moment you slip 'em on. They are perfect, and perfectly true to the web description. If you are looking for classic Dr. Martens, this is clearly the way to go. :)

These boots are fantastic. I ordered them on Thursday and received them today. (Tuesday) which, in my book, is very fast shipping. First, out of the box, they looked lovely. I put them on, and they were very stiff - which was to be expected, they're brand new boots! But, after wearing them for around two hours they're more comfortable. I've still got a lot of wearing in to do, but they're already feeling better. I love Zappos, and there were no problems with the order. I normally wear a US size 8 1/2 - 9 and I ordered a 9. They seem to be half a size too big, but I read that that's usually what happens. They look fantastic and they should be worn in fairly quickly. I love them. Thank you, Zappos!
