I love Pearl Izumi products and have owned their road bike shoes in the past. This pair of mountain bike shoes was purchased to replace some thick Nike MTB shoes that had torn around the cleat. I use MTB shoes with an SPD cleat for my winter commutes on a road bike. The fit is a little roomy which accommodates the thicker socks I wear during the winter. The tongue on the Quest II seems like it is made of cheap, thin leather and it's hard to get it to seat correctly without folding. I would not have purchased these if I had known how thin the upper is. For any temps below 50 F I have to use a windsock and/or toe bootie.
