UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW! OK here' the deal. I ended up ordering another pair in a half size smaller and that kept the slingback (heel band) from slipping. The length of the shoe itself was fine and I'm now a happy camper. They're fab looking and super comfy. I will buy a second pair in the lighter color once they're back in stock in my size.

Have to agree with other review--the back sits low on your heel but stays put if the size is correct for you. LOVE this shoe--LOVE Frye and huaraches so it's a win-win! Shoe isn't too heavy, smells like great leather and the weaving is beautiful. The color too has some texture and it makes for a great shoe. I'm a 9 and this fit perfectly--be aware that this type leather stretches as it's worn so you want a snug fit to start. I saw these shoes in the Anthropologie catalog and fell in love. They were backordered so I ordered from Zappos. I got the darker pair and absolutely love them. I get compliments on them wherever I go. I had a problem with the back strap sliding off as well. Took them to my shoe guy (he works miracles) and he said to put an adhesive foot pad at the ball of my foot and it would keep from sliding. It worked. I love the natural color too so I'm ordering them today. All they have left is a size a half size smaller than I wear but I'm going to see if these fit and if it helps with the strap sliding. If not, I can return. These are amazing shoes- order them right now!

Gorgeous sandal that is well made and stylish. I SO wanted it to work out!!! Although I solidly wear a size 8 in other brands such as Born, Dansko, Seibel, and Rocket Dog, this size 8 seemed like a 7. It was way too short and my toes hung over the front. In addition, the heel strap was set way too low and kept falling under my foot. I was so disappointed and had to send them back. Do Frye shoes usually run small? Next time I will order a 9.
