OK, so first of all, this is a very leg-enhancing, glamorous shoe. I bought it in orange and wore it with a knee length black cocktail dress and got a LOT of second looks. With that said... the heel is higher than it looks in the picture. It’s not too painful on the balls of the feet because of the platform, but walking on uneven NYC streets in these can be tricky. I’ve twisted my ankle/nearly gone down a couple of times already. On to comfort. I have wide feet and these are not too uncomfortable. They do pinch my toes a little bit; perhaps I should have gone up another half size. I normally wear a 9 and something told me to order these in a 9.5. Good thing because I’m sure a 9 would have been too small. In spite of the not total comfort, I like how these look so much that I’m considering ordering a second pair in black as I’ve been looking for a basic black platform sandal for a long time and this comes closest to what I’ve had in my mind’s eye.

These shoes are super sexy and I love red. However, just wearing them around the house to test them out, and hanging up laundry for a half hour, they squeezed and hurt my toes way too much. Actually wearing them out would have been agony. I don’t expect a ridiculous level of comfort for such a high heel, but I do expect it to be a bearable level of pain. Returned.

Jury still out here... This shoe is wonderful to look at, has a terrific feel to the touch, and is obviously well made; however, once you put your foot into it you feel like you've been sent a woman's dress shoe with its VERY pointed toe box. The shoe will be 1½" longer than any shoe you currently wear due to the toe box making it feel like the shoe is too big when you’re walking, you feel like you’re going to trip over your own feet they’re so long. If you’re used to wearing pointed boots like cowboy boots these are for you. If you’re used to wearing what I would call a “typical” men’s dress shoe these will take a bit of getting used to.

These are beautiful and very unique shoes. I was a little worried about the fit, due to the other reviews, but I found the fit to be nice. I usually wear traditional wingtip/cap toes rather than the square toe shoes. These are more square, but are very elegant. I got at least 3 compliments in court the first day I wore them. Wearing these definitely requires a certain level of confidence/flair as they are very noticeably different from what everyone else is wearing. If like me you think that's a good thing, I highly recommend them.

I like the look of the shoes, but was surprised it had a somewhat square toe. I hadn't detected that from the photos before buying and generally only buy rounded toe shoes. They're comfortable but boy do they stink! I've received similarly smelly shoes before and returned them, but I'm hoping that the smell will eventually fade.

You got the look. Had custom wedding tux made from HK; the shoes were unique enough to match with it. These shoes definitely turn heads as they are unlike anything around! No issues whatsoever.

My two cents about the shoes: These are a good value! Leather is pliable and smooth (Does Zappos condition the shoes before shipping? I don't know, but they are great!). Grain is consistent (given the style). No stitching is visible except where noted in pictures. Lining is smooth and soft. Styles, but that is just what I wanted. I found these are on the fashion forward side of mens, the toe box just fine. These are a rounded toe and only lightly pointed, unlike some of my others that have a much more extreme point. Quite comfortable I must say. I find the sizing a bit too big. Not by much, about a half size. Cons: they smell like chemicals. Let them air out for 48 hours before wearing. These are inexpensive shoes, but well worth the money, in my opinion. My two cents about the service: Zappos has re-defined customer service, in my opinion. Top notch service; I had to exchange sizes and they did so within 48 hours. Awesome!

They were a little narrow at first, but loosened up within a matter of hours. I wore them around the house and was considering getting a half size bigger or wider (one of my feet is slightly bigger), but they do crease pretty quickly where my toes begin. I wasn’t sure what I could wear these with aside from khakis, but since I’ve had them I’ve found a number of outfits that they work with. Overall I love them - very sharp!
