After using these shoes during a dayhike in the Escalante River in Utah, here are my thoughts. Pros: 1) Good cushioning for
hiking. 2) Superior draining system. 3) Very breathable for hot weather. Cons: 1) After the first day, the
insole began peeling apart - for this price, I would expect better. 2) The
insole is also made of this very rough material that really causes bad blisters on your feet if you don’t wear
socks. 3) Because it’s a non-lace system, it’s not a tight fit and therefore my feet slid around a great deal, even though I bought a half-size smaller than I usually do. Bottom Line: If you put your own
insoles into these shoes, they would be fine, although if you do a lot of river
hiking like I do, you would be better off with something more robust and comfortable. However, they would probably make a great kayaking/rafting shoe with very short side
hiking trips.
