I got these and the
Ugg Ascots (China Tea Leather) at the same time, planning on keeping just one. (Gotta love Zappos return policy, -- and it totally gets me to buy more than I would otherwise, sigh.) I liked the look of the
Uggs better (and this was also true once I saw them in person), but the helpful Zappos Customer Service rep had also recommended these when I initiated a Chat to ask for other options. I figured I would wind up going with the
Uggs, but if I liked these as much I would choose them, because they were half as expensive, times being what they are. Well, as it turns out, I liked these a lot more. They fit my foot much better with no slippage in the heel (hate that), but without feeling too tight. (I even tried another size of
Ugg just to give it every chance and never could get a good fit.) So, for my feet, the sizing is better and more comfortable. And now that I've owned these
slippers for a few weeks, I have to say they are the best
slippers I've ever had. While the wool has gotten matted down a bit, it still is quite fluffy and satisfyingly squishy. Temperature-wise, the homeostatic nature of the wool makes these comfortable in very cool weather or even on 80 degree days. The sole is sturdy enough for quick jaunts outside. And they look nice (although I would still give the
Ugg the nod for the coolest look, but then, as I just wear these around the house, looks aren't the deciding factor for me). Really, the only drawback I see right now is
"shedding". These puppies shed more than a
Golden Retriever and I'm still finding little bits of wool popping up here and there on the floor throughout my apartment. Not a deal-breaker for me, but it was a surprise. So, in short, these are excellent
slippers; definitely a cut above the usual department store slips you might have bought (or received as a gift) in the past. If you like the look, you should definitely try them; with Zappos' return policy you really can't lose.
