After wearing
Doc Martens for years, which has always enjoyed a reputation of offering uncommonly good support in its products, it was extremely difficult to find a walking/casual type shoe that was comfortable to me (I believe the Docs quality has been on a downswing the last few years). I finally found the solution in Rockport's Eureka. While the shoe is a little flat in the arches, it is nonetheless extremely comfortable for extended periods of standing and walking, and unlike many other
walking shoes, isn't more narrow than the size would indicate. I also like the conservative styling, as it makes the shoe more universal with various styles of
dress, giving walking shoe comfort in a shoe that could conceivably be worn with
clothing other than
streetwear.
