  • "We believe most consumers think "Made in USA" means that real manufacturing jobs were provided to U.S. workers in order to make that product. The shoes produced in our U.S. factories are made by U.S. workers using both U.S. and imported materials. Where the level of domestic value is at least 70%, we have labeled the shoe "Made in USA." Where it falls below that level, we have qualified it as containing both domestic and imported materials. This determination is based in part on a survey of consumers conducted by the FTC." --New Balance Inc.

Old woman shoes could be a bit more padded - These shoes really do look like something an older woman would wear. I bought these shoes for work because I'm a waitress and I need black shoes to work in. Although these shoes say they are walking shoes they could be more padded. I didn't get any blisters from them but my feet ached a little bit after 9 hours of standing/walking around. However, I ordered a bunch of other black shoes and this one was the most comfortable. Be aware of how they look though!

Great Shoes! It's a joy to find a pair of shoes properly sized, comfortable, and made in the USA! I'm tempted to buy another pair, now that they've come out with a velcro closure, just to get through airport security faster. . .

New Balance 811 shoe - I wore the WW810 shoe last year to teach in since I am on my feet and walking all day. I had been having trouble with my left arch, knee (that I injured skiing years ago), and hip. When I started wearing the 810, my arch felt much better, and my hip quit hurting. I just got the WW811's to replace the 810's. The New Balance store had told me that the 811's were their updated 810's. I haven't had a chance to wear them yet (saving them for the new school year), but I can tell you that they should be as comfortable and helpful as the 810's are. I will never go back to another kind of sport shoe.

Shoe Review - The shoe is comfortable, no break in period required, and supportive. Would like to see it with velcro closure instead of laces.

Comfortable walking shoe for people with bunions - I have bunions and therefore need a wider shoe in the front, but not in the back. This was very comfortable and I was still able to cinch the laces tight enough at the top to make a snug fit. It is the most comfortable walking shoe I have worn in a long time!

Fantastic Walking Shoes - As someone who need correction for pronation, I checked out all the brands of walking shoes that would be appropriate...these shoes are just great. They are very comfortable, extremely well made, very attractive for this type of shoe, and really do the job.

A Comfortable Shoe - This shoe is lighter in weight than another style of New Balance that I had previously purchased. Comes in the very wide width that I need, but isn't as bulky in appearance or feel. My podiatrist has suggested New Balance in a style 900 or higher. Decided to try this pair in an 800 series. Actually like this pair better...not quite as ugly and not as heavy as the 900s.

Great for Narrow Feet! I have narrow feet, especially in the heels, and it's always difficult to find shoes that fit. When the heels are narrow enough, usually my toes and uncomfortably squeezed. These shoes are terrific for feet like mine--they're narrow in the heels (in the AA size) but wide enough in the front. I can wiggle my toes again! The lacing system also helps--there is a double eyelet at the top for cross-over lacing, and it's even reinforced with plastic so it won't tear (Even some other New Balance shoes don't have that feature). I love these shoes! I tried the 810, but they weren't as comfortable (I got cramps in my arches after standing a long time) so there is some difference between the two models.

WONDERFUL! I recently had foot surgery and all of my shoes were so uncomfortable. I bought this shoe in a half size larger and a wide width. These shoes are wonderful!!! I'm a teacher and I'm on my feet all day. These are the best walking shoes!

Very Comfortable - This shoe needed no "breaking in" period. It's a sturdy walking shoe. The only problem I have with it is that I have a wide foot and narrow heel, and have trouble with all walking shoes (stepping out of them slightly). This was my first Zappos order and I'm thrilled to find an online shoe source that ships quickly to my overseas posting in Italy.
