Why the plastic thong?
I like the
birkenstock footbed, but found the hard plastic "thong" uncomfortable.
Mephisto uses leather, not hard plastic, I can't understand why the birks folks don't do the same.

Gizeh's great!
I recently purchased the Gizeh in a bright blue color. They will look great with my summer outfits. I've only worn them a few times, but they are really comfortable. I have no arch so the extra support really helps. I have small feet and wear a 5 - 5 1/2. The 35 narrow size fits perfectly. I have 3 pairs of
Birkenstocks and will continue to buy more because of the comfort.

Cute, but hard to break in -
I haven't worn these shoes enough to know if they're going to break in well, but after a couple of days of wear, my (admittedly very, very sensitive feet) are extremely sore on the soles -- so sore that it hurts to stand barefoot. They're really cute, so I hope they work out.

My Favorite
Sandal -
This is my 6th pair of Gizeh. I have no problem breaking them in and I can walk for hours in them. I get more compliments when I wear them than any other
sandal. I may have to get a pair in every color! They give me wonderful
arch support and they are quite stylish as well I generally wear a size 6/7 depending on the shoe but I do wear a 36 in
Birkenstock. Not sure why that is but they fit perfectly.

So cute... but a for a price.
I have the Gizah in black, and they are really lovely to look at. They look great with
jeans or a
skirt. But man, oh man... the rubber thong is a killah. The thong has left the spots between my toes shredded after a couple of months of trying to break them in to no avail. Try the
Wolky Serenity... I love that shoe.
