Comfort and traction in crusty "Sierra Cement' snow - When things ice-up in the Sierras, these are the perfect low-tops for days when Sorrels are overkill. While I normally wear a Size 10, I opted for a (European) Size 44 (10-10.5), the extra roominess ideal for wearing padded wool/nylon hiking sox. Break-in time is brief; no "burning" or uncomfortable edges felt. Well-insulated, but no discomfort when worn indoors. Workmanship (stitching, materials, footbed) is top-notch. I plan on them being the only shoes I'll travel with on my trip to Scotland this Summer.

I bought these shoes for my 87 year old father who lives in Ohio. He loves them for their stability, comfort and water resistance. Ecco offers great quality; they are well worth the price.

My 3rd pair, and I\'ll get a 4th when I need them. I work maintenance and from the boiler room to the rooftop, these shoes keep me on my feet all day. And that\'s saying quite a bit given my flat feet. I also like the fact they keep my feet dry, but breathe at the same time. ECCO is a brand I have used for 20 years so I knew these would be good, but the style, comfort and construction of this particular ECCO is hard to beat. Highly recommended for anyone needing a shoe that\'s a good "partner" for the health of your legs, feet and back.

I purchased these shoes for a hiking trip to Colorado\'s Longs Peak. They were extremely comfortable and required very little break in. They helped make the hikes successful. I also wear them to work. I would recommend these for hiking as well as casual wear.

Shoe review - Great walking shoe. I bought it to walk trails and it has great support and comfort. It would be a little stiff if you planned to try and run trails in this but overall and excellent, well fitting, comfortable shoe.

Very good walking and all around casual shoe - They are extremely comfortable for me -- from day one. They have a good sole that provides very good traction for easy hiking as well on ice and snow. The workmanship is very good. I put my first pair obtained at an Ecco store in Maine through a lot and they have held up well. I bought a second pair from Zappos after being so pleased with the first pair. I am always afraid some shoe that works well for me will be discontinued since fashion seems to dictate rather than good sense. I might add the toe box is roomy and very comfortable. I wear a U.S. 10.5 - 11 depending upon the last and maker. While many Ecco size 44 shoes don't fit well -- too tight in the toe box, these are perfect in a Euro size 44 for me. I recommend them as a comfortable all around, knock around, travel, walking shoe.

These are nice shoes. They are very comfortable and have good arch support. They can kind of pass in terms of style, especially if you trick people into thinking you are wearing them because they are European and sophisticated.

Perfect hiking shoe - but order a half size larger - Hi this shoe is incredibly light & durable & perfect for hiking. And stylish enough to be seen in public (even off the trails)! I'm a 7.5 and ordered that first. That was too small in the front of the shoe - so I bumped it to a size 8 and its perfect so consider ordering a half size larger.

A Well Made Shoe! I really wish this pair of shoes had fit because the quality of workmanship is top notch! I'm trying again though. I normally wear an 8.5 and it felt a little short in the front end, as well as the arch support not in the right spot. It also seemed a little tight for my wide feet, but I'm hoping a 9 will fare better.
