Great shoes!! We bought these for my daughter months ago and she's been wearing them exclusively for 3 months and they still look great! My daughter does still fall when walking so the front is a tiny bit scuffed, but still looks great! I love these shoes and plan to continue buying Umi shoes until my daughter outgrows the brand.

Love Umi shoes, they fit my daughter's foot perfectly! This is her 3rd pair of Umis. The quality and craftsmanship are great, they are long wearing, and I love that they are leather lined!

Not for toddlers - I really like the look and fit of these shoes. However, my toddler is into exploring climbing up stairs. We live in an urban area with lots of concrete stairs and within a day, the leather on the toe was completely scratched off and looks awful. The leather on the outside is only a veneer so unlike some of her other shoes, which, with a little polish look a lot better, these still look pretty messed up. I bought the Bluebell color so it is possible that other colors are made of different materials and don't have this problem. I do think that they'd be really nice shoes for older kids who aren't so rough on the tops of their shoes, but I wouldn't recommend them for exploring toddlers.

Let me first start by saying this: Zappos has the most AMAZING customer service that I have ever experienced from any company. Okay, now the boots... I have been searching for almost a year for the perfect Frye boots. I have never owned a pair before and I am extremely picky when it comes to shoes, especially boots. I have tried several other styles in Frye and discovered that sizing runs different in most styles. I wear an 8.5 or 9 in other brands and mostly wear an 8.5 in Frye. However, the Carson I wear an 8, the Harness I wear a 7.5... I originally ordered an 8.5 in these boots in the black. They did feel a little tight in the toes and loose in the heel, but I knew they would stretch and mold to my feet with time. The black for me was just TOO dark and somewhat masculine looking. I decided to exchange them for the dark brown leather in the same size. The dark brown leather is absolutely gorgeous! I love that the sole and heel are a nice contrasting lighter brown and will look even better with wear. They are a very beautiful dark chocolate brown and will go just fine with black and any other color items. HOWEVER, for some reason the brown felt snugger in the toes, so much so that I was afraid that they are just too small. I understand the confusion with sizing with these boots because they are narrow in the toes and slip in the heel. I did some research and discovered that they will actually stop slipping in the heel with wear. Sooo... I am now waiting on my size 9 to arrive. I will probably end up keeping these so I will be able to wear medium weight socks in the colder weather. I think many reviews here claim the boots are uncomfortable because the sizing is somewhat confusing and they probably did not have the correct size. For me (unless you have a narrow foot) they run true to size. I would not recommend going down a half size in this particular style of Frye because they are so narrow in the toe area. I highly recommend this style! I put off getting them for a long time because they are so expensive, but I am sooo GLAD I finally bit the bullet and got them! They are so classy, go with everything and will last so many, many years. Also, they fit really well in the calf with a little extra room for jeans to be tucked in. I am 5'4” and they come right up to the bottom of my knee, which I love. Get these! You won't regret it!

Beautiful!. Leather is so soft. I'm 6' tall and this size 11 boot hits my kneecap, 19 inches tall from floor. I have a high instep but not a problem in getting my foot in. There is heel slippage when I walk - not sure how to fix that. They might be going back. :(

This is a gorgeous boot and it looks and feels every bit the cost (and more)! I read all the reviews and was concerned about heel slip. I first ordered a half size up and was swimming, then ordered true to size. I've had the toe of the boot stretched twice and have gotten blisters from the heel slip BUT after wearing them over continually longer periods of time I've finally hit the point where I know they're going to be amazingly comfortable. It's worth the break-in!

Very pretty boots that come to my mid knees. Only problem, for me, is that the calves are pretty roomy. I would prefer the boots to not be so large around the calf area.

These boots are huge! I just got them in the mail and was pretty disappointed when I tried them on. They absolutely swallowed my legs and looked ridiculous. The shaft is very wide and the ankles are extremely wide (to the point where they look like cankles). I normally wear 7 1/2-8, but ordered these in 7 1/2. They run a bit large in size and are built for I think a bigger person overall (I'm 5'6 and not super skinny). The quality is very high, but they look a little more home-on-the-range than I had hoped. I still gave 5 stars for quality and the dark brown is a lovely shade. In the picture they look classic and refined... in person, they are more country casual. Sending them back.... the search continues. :(

I loved these boots. I bought them in the textured bordeaux color and they are beautiful. I am on the short side (5'2") and they do come up a little high but the beautiful thing about these boots is that you can scrunch them slightly by the ankle and they look beautiful on. That gives them a little more of a casual look. These are definitely a staple for any wardrobe. The quality is great and I expect to have them for years.

After reading all the nearly 100 reviews of this baby (a few times) I decided to take the plunge. Justifying the money spent on the fact that I will wear these forever and ever. So I just got them, and yes unfortunately, they're worth every cent. Maybe I'm just high right now on the scent of new leather, but these boots are simply perfect, looks-wise. The leather looks like the most high quality leather and they're extremely versatile - whether you want a structured boot or a slightly slouchy look - these babies fit the bill. I wanted a knee-high boot, but these come up to an inch and a half below my knee (I'm almost 5'7"), but that's okay; they still look elegant and tall. With regard to the roomy heel area - yep, it's too roomy initially, but as other lovely ladies have said here, that problem should go away after they've been worn in. Plus Frye says, it's not a Frye boot until 190 steps. It is a little narrow in the toe area, but not very uncomfortable. Nothing that time won't fix. Plus you can also take it to get it stretched. I love the fact that it has functional adjustable straps because I have average-thin calves and this was too roomy for me but was fine after adjustment. I don't recommend these for someone with skinny calves. Overall, a gorgeous investment which will pay dividends many years to come!

These are nicer look than I expected. There was a little heel slippage first day I wore them, but by the third wearing they were super comfortable. I got the taupe and it will be a nice lighter color for spring. I expect these to last forever.

Beautiful boot and the color was gorgeous (antique tan). Too bad they don't have a half size down (out of stock).
