A unique, casual twist on the boat shoe. The soles are very flat and the inside is lined with a furry material that will probably get smelly pretty quickly (not sure yet, though). They are very cute for everyday casual wear. The checkered pattern is very subtle but definitely adds some personality.

I used to wear top-siders back in the 80s (had 3 pairs- red, blue and green - the brown ones weren't that cool). I could get another pair now, I suppose, but they're not made the same (as usual- nothing is) and just don't look 'right' anymore. Being a Vans fan for years, I got a pair of the red sea captains, and I'll have to say, for some silly new school Vans shoe, I actually dig them a lot. Very next day I went rafting down the river (no way will you catch me wearing Tevas and I knew regular flipflops would just fall off or get sucked on the river floor and slip off) and decided these would probably work pretty good. And, dang, did they ever!! Super comfy, dried fast, and never even once thought of slipping off. Getting crazy pushing off rocks, going over the rapids sans raft at one point- they held up great. So yeah, these are rad. A little spendy for how simple they are, but what the hey- Steve van Doren I'm sure could use some help on the Lamborghini payments.
