I bought these in both black and brown because I couldn't make up my mind (I think the brown seems more appropriate for the style of the shoe, but black goes with more things in my wardrobe) in my usual size (9.5). While they're beautiful shoes and up to Frye's usually high standards, I think that my left foot must be shaped a bit odd because the right shoe fit like a glove (even in the width and my feet are extremely narrow, so those with wider feet might want to avoid these) and the left one (in both pairs, although for some inexplicable reason the black ones weren't affected as badly), the left one gaped at the ankle. I'm not sure if that would have been fixed by letting the leather soften more or not, but unfortunately I just couldn't deal with having to wear them around and hope that the situation would remedy itself with time. My only other complaint is that while the footbed is slightly padded, it's very flat and stiff. I don't mind a flat, thin sole, but it's got to have more flex to it than the Lola Zig Zags did. These little beauties are going back.

Lola Zig Zag - When I saw this sandal I knew that I just had to have it. I ordered it in brown sugar, although the black is very nice. Almost immediate gratification, since they were on my doorstep the next day! What a great looking Frye sandal...and was true to size. The ankle strap is not bothersome at all. My only complaint was that the thin lining on the footbed started to peel back after the second wearing. I krazy-glued it back into place and all is well. However, for the price, that should not be happening.
