Shoe feels well constructed, sturdy and comfortable, even after 10 hour days. Non-slip sole works well.

Mine came unglued after a short time at the ball of the foot on both shoes.

Could a been better-- Once again, great service from Zappos. Not thrilled. However, with the shoes. I bought them for work (Food service). They look pretty nice. Not very comfortable. The big toe on my left foot seems to be hitting the shoe itself. It almost seems like I'm walking on an incline, or downhill slope. The balls of my feet don't feel too good after a day at work. It feels like there is not much between the balls of my feet and the ground. I ordered my regular size. Maybe I needed a half size bigger. If I had it to do over again, I would have returned them and tried something else. Still thrilled with Zappos!!! Not their fault. First try with Dickies shoes. Hesitant to try more.

Fantastic, comfort shoes - Beautiful shoes. You can use it as causal dress shoes or work shoes. Personally I use them for both! I have knee and foot problems right now. Wearing the Dickies Oxford is so comfortable to walk on that gives me good balance.

Wonderful!! These shoes are wonderful. Felt true to size and very slip resistant. If you need a semi-dressy non-slip shoe this is the shoe for you.

The shoe is very comfortable. The only issue is the small circular cleats on the bottom of the shoe tend to hold tiny stones and retain quite a bit of water even after wiping your feet. If you live in a cold climate, the snow sticks to these cleats causing you to slip on hard floors when coming in from outside. Otherwise, a good work shoe.

I was amazed at the quick delivery and the fit and feel of these new shoes. However, less than 2 months after purchase, I am upset at the way the sole on my left shoe has peeled back a full 3 inches from the toe. This is not the kind of durability I look for in a work shoe.

If you're working the FOH and looking for a reliable work shoe, this one is it. I've tried many slip-resistant shoes and this one beats them all. Of course, working in a restaurant means being on your feet hours on end so wear thick socks. Otherwise, these shoes are perfect. I can walk through a puddle of water and not worry about slipping, something my co-workers must worry about day in and day out for not wearing these shoes. Oh, and they look nice too.

I bought a pair of these shoes for work in May. Despite fairly low-impact use, they were falling apart by July. One of the worst pairs of shoes I have ever purchased.

The Prince of Punk! If you don't ever buy any Doc's, THESE ARE A MUST, but you have to keep them highly shined! I know this is hard for some of you, but a shiny boot is a boss boot that will last longer AND be easier on the feet! I know, I've worn them for 36 hours and NOT ONCE did I feel any pain! Save the bread & buy the best!

aside from the fact that leather bear's comment below makes absolutely no freaking sense, this are still some mucho nice boots. have no fear: they do not cause brain damage or illiteracy.

I have the previous version of these 20-eyes, the 1420Z, replaced by the 9663, and it has a little "bulge" thing in the back of the boot just above the ankle. Makes it easier to take the boot on and off because your heel can go right through it with ease, without lacing and unlacing every time. Don't know if these 9663's have it though. All that aside, Dr. Martens are a great investment. I wear them with casual skirts to show off the 20 eyelets and go toward the "punk" side of my wardrobe; I wear them with pants to be more conservative. I work in I.T. at a small college, and I'm often walking all over the place or carrying heavy monitors or printers. I had never known stability or shock absorption until I had to carry heavy things with these Docs on my feet, and I was instantly in love.

Leather Bear's right :) I sell shoes, and the best way to keeping your leather looking and feeling its best is to give it some leather lube. Its kinda like skin, give it some lotion to keep it from drying out. :)

Kick A** Boots that look great too!! I've now purchased my third pair of these and will buy another when needed. They are kick a**, look good, and (believe it or not) go with almost anything! I work conservative during the week, and then either "leather" or "punk it" (or a combination) when not on the job. Never had a transition problem. Well worth it. I'd suggest the 14 eyelets if you aren't sure about the 20's.

For the DOC connoisseur- Overall these boots rock!! However, I have extremeley small ankles, so to lace these regular is impossible. I had to ladder lace them to get them on without completeley unlacing them. Now, if I could just fine red round laces long enough.

Great shoes if you have the right size! I thought that a size 8 would fit me because some of my shoes are 8.5 (I recently bought a pair of size 9 tennis shoes though). At first I thought they fit but then I walked in them more and in the back of the boot the leather kept poking my ankle. I thought I'd get used to it and I had to break them in but it's just ridiculous. They gave me blisters so I guess I needed the size 9! Now I am trying to sell my size 8 so I can buy a size 9.
