I recently purchased the smooth leather Era for me, and the
canvas style for my wife. When I ordered them, Zappos was changing their shipping procedures, and I complained when I didn't get them right away as I've ordered several pairs of shoes from them and never had this problem. In the end they ended up comping me over $150! I got the shoes for free, and Zappos has a customer for life. Back to the shoes: the Eras are a good shoe. My wife and and I are tall people with big feet, but
Vans succeed in disguising this fact well. The minimal styling, basic, classy, oldschool charm of the shoes is the best out there. You couldn't give me a pair of
Nikes or
Addidas. I used to play
Basketball in
Skate Hi's for heavens sake, that's how much I like this brand. A lot of shoe companies copy the
Vans style, but they really don't come close. I've owned Eras,
Slip Ons,
Skate Hi's,
Chukka Boots, and
Chukka Lows.
Van's are comfortable but not on your feet all day
work shoes, and aren't meant to be. They're a skating and casual shoe, but they're cool.
Vans are the only
skate shoe as far as I'm concerned, and my life long choice of casual foot wear.
