My Main Squeeze -
Once you get these
boots onto your feet, they are terrific. It's important, to start by unbuckling the
belt (duh!). Seriously, I did not think of this technique at first and, consequently, felt like one of Cinderella's Big and Clumsy Sistie Uglers trying to squeeze a big fat foot into a tiny narrow boot. Were these really the right size? Yes. But, alas, after I undid the
belt, my foot did eventually make it into the boot and the shoe fit fine. And it was comfortable. I know that I have a high instep and that this could
account for the difficulty I had getting my foot into the shoe. But once it was in, it was worth it and it felt great. I did not have the same problem taking my foot OUT of the boot, and as I really detest the idea of inside or hidden zippers on
boots (to aid in getting in and out of them), I do not think that the shoe should be redesigned. I'm happy to struggle for 30 seconds or so to get them on. No doubt the boot will loosen up a bit with wear, and that it will be easier to put on after it's broken in. In fact, I expect it to become my main squeeze (pardon the expression). I like the front dip in the top part of the shank, the pull-on part around the ankle. It is very flattering to a leg with a slighter than desired calf muscle. The round heel is cool. I love the shoe and I would love it even more if it had been on
sale when I bought it. It's expensive, but I didn't want to let it get away from me. It isn't often to find so much style in a short boot. Although I give it 5 stars for looks and 5 for comfort, I give it only a 4 overall since some folks probably won't want to work so hard to shove their feet into their shoes. (That is, if other people actually do have trouble doing that. They might not if their insteps are not as high as mine are.)
