I had pairs of
Converse for years, but after learning
PF Flyers were not only still being made, but had better features than
Converse, I had to check them out. I bought the Sandlot Hi Re-Issue last year, and they are way more comfortable and sturdy than
Converse. Only way I'd buy another pair of
Converse is if they were on sale and steeply discounted. Otherwise, my money will be spent on the Flyer's. The
canvas is thicker, the sole is a bit thicker, and I like the arch insert and LOVE the texture on the toe box area. It looks bad-ass. I also like that the logo is rubber (not some thin glued-on thing) and actually on the outside. I usually don't like logos on my
clothing, but with these shoes, I don't mind because they're so awesome. They're the same price as
Converse, so it now doesn't make sense to me why anyone would buy a pair of
Converse. As far as the fit, I decided to go a size up after reading the reviews about them. I wore a 10.5 in
Converse, but got an 11 in these. After testing them in my apartment, I felt that size was perfect. And I rated the
arch support as excellent because, for this type of shoe, they really do feel good. But if you're planning on jogging or something in these, that might not be the case. (But why would you be jogging in them, anyway?) The only issue I've had with these is that the arch insert thing squeaks a bit when it rubs against my
socks. However, it's only noticeable when I'm, say, walking down a quiet hallway in my apartment building. In conclusion, if you want a pair of hi-tops or lo-tops, get some Flyers.
