Good shoe--men's sizing still a bit off -
I'm a beginning tapper, and selected this shoe based on its looks and reviews. As far as looks are concerned, make sure you understand it is a leather shoe, and very pliable, so it won't look as "clean" as the picture may indicate. Per the instructions I ordered the shoe 1 1/2 sizes larger than my
street shoe--normally I wear a 9 or 9 1/2, so I ordered an 11. The shoe definitely feels a bit tight, although I found the width to be perfect. It has stretched a bit over time, so it's comfortable, but I still wish it were a bit longer. That said, I've never bought tap (or
dance) shoes before, and the "fit" may be tighter than I'm used to. Also, after about a week one of the taps was already a bit loose, but it was easy enough to tighten it with a small Phillips screwdriver (smaller than a standard size). Overall, I like this shoe, and it certainly looks better than I tap.
