Got these as a work appropriate sneaker, and they fill the role well. I don't really have any qualms about the look. The pictures seem to do it justice. If anything they're slightly less brown and more gray than the picture seems. My only issue is that I ordered these in January and last month (July) they are already falling apart. The glue that holds the upper to the sole is just not up to snuff. I'm an office worker so I'm not out running marathons or skateboarding in these. The glue does seem to be the only issue, the canvas has held up well and the sole still seems usable. Self-repair could definitely be an option. Overall I wouldn't buy them again because of this durability issue, but admittedly you could do worse.
